Silver has long been valued for its use in jewellery, but did you know it's also found in skincare? Zyderma's Clarifying Cream is a cult fave found at the Truth Beauty Company (those who know, know). It can be used by individuals with any skin type that also suffers from acne-prone and problematic skin. It's short, but powerful, ingredient list includes a unique microparticle called MicroSilver BG™, otherwise known as ultra-pure natural silver.

What is MicroSilver BG™?

MicroSilver BG™ is an Ecocert approved ingredient that can be found in facial care products, shampoos, foot, hand and lip care as well as toothpaste. It's an ingredient that has individuals with blemished skin in particular rejoicing! It doesn't block pores and works in a time-release manner on the surface of the skin. One of its main characteristics is its ability to fight against a broad spectrum of bacteria. When silver ions bind to bacteria, a series of steps occur that lead to the prevention of unwanted cell proliferation and the bacteria is cleansed from the skin.

Other Skin-Healing Benefits

Skincare products containing silver can also assist in balancing the skin's microflora and help calm inflammation. Studies show that skincare containing MicroSilver BG™ can help treat atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. When used regularly, it not only strengthens the skin's ability to resist the colonization of pesky bacteria but also supports the regeneration of the skin. How amazing is that?!

Skincare Routine

At The Truth Beauty Company, we love a balanced skincare routine. It doesn't matter whether your skin is dry, mature, blemish-prone, oily, or dehydrated, a complete skincare routine composed of a cleansing, hydrating, treating and moisturizing is a must! Here is a routine that includes Zyderma's Clarifying Cream and will leave your skin feeling nourished and glowing:

  • Gently cleanse your skin to remove any makeup and product residue. We suggest Etymologie's Active Clay Cleanser. We love this cleanser's ability to gently exfoliate and brighten while keeping breakouts at bay.

  • Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Avoiding rubbing or pulling at skin.

  • Apply Matter Company's Rosehip Oil to promote skin healing.

  • Gently massage a thin layer of Zyderma's Clarifying Cream onto the skin until the product disappears. There is no need to over-apply, as a little goes a long way!

  • Apply Graydon's Phyto-Clear to soothe and add a protective layer to the skin.
